Runa Laila described him as a good friend; she said that bidding farewell to such a talented artist is difficult; he could have taken himself to even greater heights.
“He was a fun-loving person. The two of us sang together on various stages around the world.”
The day before Bappi Lahiri's death, evening Mukherjee passed away, and a couple of weeks earlier, Lata Mangeshkar had also died.
‘Sadher Lau Banailo More Bairagi’ is a much later story.
