To get through the entire day feeling well, it’s important to start the morning in a planned way. What you do in the first hour after waking up has the greatest impact on your body. If you develop good habits, you can stay healthy while also maintaining a natural glow in your skin.
Wake up both body and mind together:
Even after waking up, a lingering drowsiness—known as ‘sleep inertia’—often remains. To move out of this sleepy state and fully wake your body and mind, it’s important to get moving. You can take a short walk or do small movements such as rotating your neck, arms and legs to release stiffness. As your body becomes active, blood circulation to the brain increases and your muscles gradually come to life. Splashing cold water on your face afterwards helps awaken the nervous system, leaving you feeling refreshed and uplifted. Expose your body to morning sunlight as well—natural light signals to the brain that it’s daytime, helping sleepiness fade quickly.
Drink half a litre of water with a pinch of salt:
After long hours of sleep, the body can become dehydrated. To quickly refresh yourself, drink half a litre of water mixed with a pinch of salt. Alternatively, you can add a small amount of honey instead of salt.
Do some light exercise:
Just 5–10 minutes of exercise in the morning can enhance your skin’s glow. It helps reduce stiffness, improves blood circulation, and prevents the body from tiring easily throughout the day.
Take time over breakfast:
Don’t rush your morning meal. Eat breakfast calmly and slowly, allowing yourself at least 20 minutes. To do this, wake up early enough so you’re not short of time.
Eat antioxidant-rich fruits:
Try to include foods in your morning diet that help prevent cell damage, such as nuts, raisins, carrots, apples and grapes.
