Dhallywood actress Misti Jannat has alleged that she is receiving death threats. The actress made the serious allegation in a status posted on her Facebook account on Monday night (19 May). Describing the incident, Misti Jannat wrote, “Since yesterday, I have been receiving messages and calls from different numbers demanding extortion money. I am also being threatened with death.” She said she is also being threatened with being implicated in false cases. Mentioning this, the actress wrote, “When I block one number, threats of false cases are made from another number.” Earlier, an attempted murder case was filed at Bhatara Police Station in the capital in connection with the anti-discrimination movement. Several showbiz figures were named in the case, including actress Nusrat Faria. While travelling to Thailand last Sunday, she was arrested at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka. A court later ordered her to be sent to jail, though her bail was granted today. Amid these developments, Misti Jannat’s allegations have heightened concern among her fans. Many admirers have advised her to take legal action, although the actress has not yet disclosed her decision in this regard. Misti Jannat began her career on the silver screen with the film Love Station in 2014 and has been working regularly since then. In addition to being an actress, she is also a dental surgeon and runs a clinic in the capital.
