US President Donald Trump has arrived in Saudi Arabia on his first official visit. As part of a three-day tour of the Middle East, the US president travelled first to Saudi Arabia on Tuesday (13 May).
According to a report by US news outlet CNN, Air Force One, carrying the president, landed at Riyadh airport at 9:49 am local time. As the aircraft entered Saudi airspace, it was escorted by F-15 fighter jets, a move seen as a symbol of diplomatic honour.
A royal purple carpet was laid at the Royal Terminal of King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh to formally welcome Trump. Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman received the US president there.
