Kuwait has further eased its visa process for Bangladeshis. Bangladeshis can now obtain Kuwaiti visas without requiring special permission (Lamna). The information was shared recently at a press conference by Bangladesh’s Ambassador to Kuwait, Syed Tarek Hossain. Embassy sources said that the reopening of Kuwait’s labour market to Bangladesh has created new employment opportunities. In this context, following a safe migration process is essential, as caution and proper procedures are the key to safe migration. The ambassador said that although there has been no formal announcement, Bangladeshis have been receiving Kuwaiti visas without Lamna for about a week. However, he urged everyone to remain vigilant against visa-related fraud. Also present at the press conference were Embassy Counsellor Moniruzzaman, the President and General Secretary of the Kuwait Press Club, and other distinguished guests. The ambassador said, “For the visas we authenticate, the embassy has agreements with the recruiting companies. We ensure that Bangladeshi workers will receive proper arrangements for wages, accommodation, medical care and leave once they arrive in Kuwait.” He called on applicants to avoid going abroad through middlemen and instead apply through embassy-designated procedures. He added, “Please do not use brokers. Follow the correct and legal process to obtain visas. This will help avoid fraud and ensure that you can work in Kuwait safely and with dignity.” Key points to consider when applying for a visa: applicants must follow the procedures set by the Kuwaiti embassy, avoid applying through brokers, verify contract details with the recruiting company, and ensure clarity regarding salary, accommodation and other benefits.
