On behalf of city residents, the Amar Bangladesh Party (AB Party) has submitted a memorandum containing 28 proposals to the Ministry of Housing and Public Works to address various problems in the capital. On Tuesday (22 April), under the initiative of the party’s Shadow Affairs Committee, the memorandum highlighted 28 proposals focusing on Dhaka’s area-specific realities and existing development considerations. These included aligning the Detailed Area Plan (DAP) and Floor Area Ratio (FAR) indices, defining DAP boundaries, taking road width into account, assessing land load-bearing capacity, developing green urbanisation, decentralising Dhaka’s population, and making Rajdhani Unnayan Kartripakkha (RAJUK) corruption-free. The memorandum was submitted to Housing and Public Works Adviser Adilur Rahman Khan and Secretary Nazrul Islam by AB Party Shadow Affairs Editor Barrister Abbas Islam. Also present were the party’s Joint Editor for Power, Energy and Technology and Shadow Committee member Architect Md Abul Kalam Mahmud Sarkar (Tanvir), International Affairs Committee member Hazra Mehjabin, and Assistant Publicity Editor Ripon Mahmud. Later, the AB Party delegation held a detailed discussion with the adviser and the secretary on the proposals. During the meeting, the adviser and secretary assured that the reasonable proposals put forward on behalf of city residents would be taken into consideration and implemented accordingly.
